Both the Miniature and Toy Austrialian Shepherds have the attributes of the larger Aussie,
but the advantages of a smaller dog.
They typically will weigh between 12 to 35 pounds at maturity.
They come in coat colors of blue merle, red merle, black or red or tri.
All come with or without copper/tan and white trim.
Their eyes may be blue, brown, hazel, amber or a combination.
The Miniatures temperament is that of the larger Aussie - sensitive,
easily trained, natural guardians of the home and they have strong herding instincts.
They are calm and confident, but suspicious of strangers.
They are entirely devoted to their master and will go to great lengths to please.
The unique size of the toy and mini make them excellent traveling companions.
The Toy and Miniature Australian Shepherd is recognized as a breed and is registered by
the National Stock Dog Registry, The Miniature Australian Shepherd Club of America and the Continental Kennel Club.
